Cubic Zirconia Jewelry Information

Our customers depend on us to provide complete information on our website, and we are pleased to let you know that the beautiful created stones set in many of the elegant jewelry designs found at Glitzs.com are made of cubic zirconia. Cubic zirconia is a hard and visually flawless synthetic material that is usually colorless. However, we use a variety of colors in our cubic zirconia in order to simulate a wide variety of stones.

We call these synthetic gems “created stones” and always include information naming the simulated stone, as well as our use of cubic zirconia. In the jewelry that we offer to our customers at Glitzs.com, these created stones include:

  • Diamond
  • Amethyst
  • Aquamarine
  • Emerald
  • Garnet
  • Onyx
  • Opal
  • Ruby
  • Topaz
  • Sapphire

Information to Distinguish Cubic Zirconia Jewelry

This synthetic process has been the primary source of simulated diamonds in jewelry since the 1970s. Without the information that we provide on the cubic zirconia process, it is likely that our created stones would fool many people. However, while it is difficult to tell a real diamond from a hard, durable cubic zirconia with the naked eye, there is no comparison when it comes to price.

In order to distinguish between cubic zirconia and real diamond jewelry, we offer the following information. While cubic zirconium is usually flawless, a diamond often contains some small defect. Cubic zirconium generally weighs about 1.7 times as much as a genuine diamond of the same size, but is slightly less hard.
